SHAPIRO'S WORLD

Synopsis:  Many people race through life -- from one work or familial commitment to the next, too uptight and focused on big picture items -- that they fail to appreciate the smaller (and much funnier) things in life.  Let’s face it, we often take ourselves way too seriously.  As a society, we have our collective panties in a bunch.  Shapiro’s World:  It’s all in the FUNNIER Details, is guaranteed to lighten the mood and dislodge society’s massive wedgie, through analysis of the comedy that is everywhere in our midst.

Author Jonathan S. Shapiro is able to loosen up even the most tightly wound in Shapiro’s World -- a collection of essays “about nothing” (in the Larry David - “Seinfeldian” sense) and everything that we encounter on a daily basis.  Finding humor in otherwise unusual or insufferable situations or people, Shapiro’s World explores such things as how people behave when they are in the men’s room or in the elevator, or when on the street and their dog and a stranger’s are sniffing and licking each other.  The book also analyzes other unusual, humorous but often unnoticed phenomena concerning, such things as the media and popular culture, including the local news, trend setters, superheroes, television, technology and sports; relationships, including wedding issues, raising children and relatives who live in Florida; business and commerce, including dieting, food and health issues, random part-time jobs and trying to get some “customer service.”
